TRAINING
Dog Gone Good Training is now offering family dog obedience classes at
The Dog Spot.
Training with your dog is the best way to improve your relationship and
bring peace and understanding to your home and your daily walks. Dog Gone
Good Training uses positive, reward-based methods to teach your dog what is
expected. Your dog will be motivated to work for you because he earns good
things toys, treats, walks, praise not because he fears punishment.
Owners will learn how to communicate with their dogs and provide effective
and loving leadership.
Classes are limited to 6 participants to ensure plenty of individual
attention. The curriculum is tailored to meet the needs of each class.
Puppies and dogs must show proof of current vaccination.
Puppy Kindergarten (puppies 8-16 weeks) Your puppys early weeks are
her most important socialization period. This drop-in socialization and
early training class will give your pup the skills and experience she needs
to become the dog of your dreams instead of the adolescent of your
nightmares. Class includes playtime with puppies, appropriate adult dogs,
and children. Skills include sit, down, come, loose-leash walking and much
more. Owners will learn about positive training methods and compassionate
leadership. Puppy kindergarten is the best way to prevent fearful,
aggressive, or rowdy behavior from developing. Dont miss this
opportunity! This drop-in class is on-going, and is held on Sundays from
3:00 to 4:00 p.m. Call (303) 550-0419 by 3:00 p.m. on Sat. to RSVP each
week. Cost is $12 per class. The first class is free.
Good Dog Class (4 months and up) This class covers all of the basics:
come, sit, down, stay, wait, leave-it, touch, polite greeting, and
loose-leash walking. A critical part of positive training is knowing how to
hold your dog accountable for his actions. Its not enough to have good
treats. In this class owners learn how to motivate and teach their dogs, and
how to set appropriate consequences for unwanted behavior. $110 for 6 weeks.
Great Dog Class (6 months and up) The basics of the Good Dog class are
taught with increasing distractions and distance. We start in the classroom,
and then move out to parks and city streets. This class is for those who
really enjoy training with their dog, and who want to have a dog that can go
anywhere with style. $110 for 6 weeks.
Trail Dog Class (6 months and up) Graduates of Good Dog or Great Dog
classes can attend this class. Well take our skills out to where they
really count on the numerous trails around Boulder. The curriculum is
designed to help dogs meet the City of Boulder voice and sight control
standard. Come, leave-it, stay, are practiced to teach the dog to respond
to one command and turn away from other dogs, people, or wildlife. $110 for
6 weeks.
